Job Title: Adult Education Tutor

Overview

Mortha Halls of Ivy is seeking a passionate and experienced Adult Education Tutor to join our team on a full-time basis. The Adult Education Tutor will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality educational programs to adult learners, facilitating their academic and vocational development, and contributing to the overall success of our adult education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement methods of assessing learner performance to measure learning outcomes effectively.
  • Coordinate and undertake the evaluation of assessments, awarding grades of merit based on performance.
  • Coordinate private training activities for adults seeking vocational qualifications, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives and learning standards.
  • Plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate courses of learning for adult learners as outlined in the scheme of work.
  • Prepare comprehensive plans and learning materials for each session, making them available for monitoring or lesson observation visits, and maintaining them as part of the course documentation files.
  • Ensure completion of all relevant administrative documentation by learners, including Individual Learning Plans (ILP), progress reviews, and feedback documents.
  • Assist with enrolment and recruitment procedures as necessary to support the admission of adult learners into educational programs.
  • Provide support to centre management in the successful operational management of course delivery, contributing to the achievement of program objectives and targets.
  • Carry out other duties as required from time to time by management to support the effective functioning of the educational programs.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience as a tutor or instructor in adult education settings.
  • Strong understanding of assessment methodologies and evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to develop and implement effective learning plans and materials.
  • Proficiency in administrative tasks related to course documentation and learner records management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with learners, colleagues, and management to achieve educational objectives.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of adult learners and respond to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
