Job Title: IT Support Technician
Overview
Mortha Halls of Ivy is seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to join our team. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to IT users,
resolving hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT
systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to IT users, advising them on how to resolve
hardware and software problems.
- Install and upgrade hardware, cables, operating systems, and appropriate
software.
- Resolve any IT-related faults and ensure timely resolution.
- Set up user/email accounts and maintain user access controls.
- Run system diagnostics for Windows and Mac systems.
- Document current and new solutions for reference purposes.
- Set up and upgrade server management systems.
- Configure domain policies through the domain controller.
- Set up and maintain networking throughout the office, including using Active
Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware components of
computers and network systems.
- Test new hardware and software before full-scale installation.
- Record all IT support activities for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Provide guidance to the company on all IT-related support and equipment.
- Provide first-line support for hardware and network issues.
- Set up routers and firewalls.
- Perform other IT-related troubleshooting and configuration tasks as needed.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related
field (preferred).
- Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network systems.
- Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other networking protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
