Written Assignments

All units within the qualification are internally assessed through written assignments. Assessments are internally marked by the Qualifi approved centre and are subject to external quality assurance by Qualifi.

Learners must demonstrate that they have achieved all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit. Assessment tasks are designed to reflect realistic work-related situations wherever possible and require learners to demonstrate relevant knowledge and understanding.

Assignments may require learners to:

  • Apply relevant business theories and concepts
  • Use real organisations to illustrate their answers
  • Analyse business situations and problems
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills
  • Produce recommendations where appropriate
  • Use case studies, research and workplace experience to support their work

As learners must complete six units and each required unit is assessed through written assignment, the qualification involves six unit-based written assignments.

Some assignment evidence may involve additional practical or presentation-based activities where required by a particular unit. For example, learners selecting Recruitment and Selection in Business are required to prepare for and participate in a selection interview as part of the unit requirements.

The qualification is graded on a Pass/Fail basis. Learners must meet all required learning outcomes and assessment criteria to achieve the qualification.

University Progression

Successful completion of the Qualifi Level 3 Diploma in Business Management enables learners to progress to:

  • The Qualifi Level 4 Certificate in Business Management
  • The first year of undergraduate study in a related subject
  • Employment within an associated profession

The qualification is therefore designed to provide a progression route from Level 3 business study into higher-level business education or relevant employment. Entry to a particular university or degree programme remains subject to the admissions requirements of the receiving institution.
